Kerry - 25/05/2017
PRESS RELEASE - 25th MAY '17
- Hundreds of visitors enjoyed viewing boats in fantastic weather over the 3 main marinas in Brundall
- Exhibitors reported brisk business and 8 boats were sold at the show
- Date set for next year: Saturday 19th May 2018
The first Brundall Boat Show held on Saturday 20th May was a huge success, with scores of visitors descending on Brundall to view boats and enjoy a day by the water.
There was live entertainment at each marina alongside a variety of Norfolk based caterers and marine focused exhibitors. Stratton Motor Company provided a beautifully dressed display of Lotus cars and Broom Boats ran factory tours throughout the day, adding in an extra session to cope with demand. There were bumper boats for children courtesy of Norfolk Yacht Agency and the golf buggy service alongside Riverside supplied by Norfolk Boat Sales provided a welcome relief for weary visitors. The park and ride facility on the A47 worked well and made it easy to access the show.
The show provided the perfect opportunity to showcase Brundall as a key boating hub, and a beautiful Broads village on the River Yare. A number of visitors expressed an interest in moving their boats to Brundall as a direct result of seeing the facilities first hand, which is great for the local economy.
The team behind the event are delighted to announce that the show will run again next year and the date released is Saturday 19th May 2018. The look and feel of the show will be just the same, with the focus very much remaining on the plentiful display of boats; alongside an enhanced presence of supporting marine exhibitors. The show will also extend opening to 17.00hrs.
Jenny Simpson, Marketing & Communications Manager for Broom Boats and co-ordinator of the show said “We were overwhelmed by the amount of people that got in touch in the days following the show to tell us what a lovely time they had. Visitors enjoyed the relaxed environment in which to view boats, as well browse for boating bits and bobs and enjoy a drink by the water. It’s rare to be able to view and have access to so many boats in one place in this type of environment and it was clearly a winning formula. Being able to move around the different marinas by boat also proved popular. On behalf of Broom Boats, Norfolk Yacht Agency and Norfolk Boat Sales I’d like to thank everyone whsupported the show and we look forward to welcoming visitors back next year”.
